Editorial policy

One byline, accountable on every page

Every review and guide on Neon Panda Games is written and edited by Neon Panda Editorial, the independent game studio that runs the site. The byline appears on every page and links to a profile that explains who the studio is and how to reach it. There are no guest posts, no syndicated articles and no content bought from third parties.

How games are selected

Games come from the catalogue of an HTML5 distributor, which contains thousands of titles. Almost all of them are not listed here. A game is considered only if it clears the checklist on the About page: played on keyboard and phone, clear rules, no external installs or redirects, no gambling or adult content, and something that distinguishes it from the many near-identical games in its genre. Fewer, better entries is the point.

How a review is produced

1. The game is opened on a laptop with a keyboard and on a phone, and played long enough to see how the difficulty develops and how it behaves between sessions.
2. Notes are taken on controls, session length, save behaviour, difficulty spikes and anything that felt unfair or broken.
3. The review is drafted against a fixed structure so that every game is judged on the same questions: what it is, how it plays, tips that help, a game-specific section, and where it falls short.
4. The draft is checked against the game once more before publishing. Facts we cannot confirm are removed rather than hedged.

The developer’s own description is used only as a source of facts such as level counts and control schemes. It is never reproduced. We use ordinary writing tools for spelling, grammar and formatting; the judgements are the author’s.

What the ratings mean

• 5.0 — as good as this kind of game gets in a browser; we would recommend it to anyone.
• 4.0–4.5 — clearly worth your time, with minor reservations noted in the review.
• 3.0–3.5 — competent; good for the right person or the right mood, and the review says who.
• 2.0–2.5 — listed for a specific reason but with real problems you should know about first.
• Below 2.0 — we do not list these. If a game deteriorates to this level after publication, the review is withdrawn.

Independence

No developer, distributor or advertiser pays for placement, a rating or a mention, and none has any say in what is written. The site earns from display advertising on its pages and the games earn from advertising inside their frames; neither influences which games are listed or how they are rated. We do not currently use affiliate links. If we ever accept a free product, sponsorship or affiliate arrangement, the affected page will say so plainly at the top.

Corrections and updates

When a factual error is reported and confirmed, the review is fixed and its updated date changes. When a game changes materially, the review is revisited; if the game is removed from the distributor’s catalogue, the page is taken down rather than left pointing at nothing. To report an error, use the contact page with the page link and what is wrong.

Removal requests

Developers and rights holders may ask for a game to be removed from the site at any time. Requests are honoured on verification of ownership, without conditions.

Reader safety

Games run inside a frame from their distributor and may show their own adverts. We list nothing that pushes installs or leaves the page without warning, and we explain the model in are browser games safe? and in the parent’s guide.
